HUGE Day for Rotary in Lethbridge!

The Rotary flag flowing at City Hall!  Above is the Rotarians who were present to enjoy the Mayor’s comments and the official flag raising.

As this was President Mandy’s last meeting, we had a “virtual” (Facetime) passing of the gavel to incoming President Murray Pritchard.  Plus, we took the time to acknowledge some of our Rotary superstars.

Dale Merchant, a member of our club for 53 years was recognized with the Bernie Carriere Rotary Legacy award. Bernie Carriere has left us… but his sprit and generosity live on.  Dale, a contemporary of Bernie Carriere, has made huge contributions over his decades of service.  Well-deserved Dale!  Below is President Mandy, with Susan Carriere (Bernie’s spouse), Beth Merchant, Dale Merchant, Dale’s daughter and Rotarian Dennis Chinner

Rookie Rotarian was awarded to Kaela Corazza. Kaela is tireless in her work for Rotary… even with one only working arm 😉  Well deserved Kaela!

Joanna Kappel was recognized as Rotarian of the year.  Joanna is an amazing contributor…. but you would never know it.  She is generally one of those unsung heroes that is always quietly working in the background.  Thanks for all your work Joanna!

President Mandy had the great pleasure to present Bev Hosack with a certificate acknowledging her work with our youth program.  To the right of Bev is our exchange student Laci from Hungary.  Laci has been a joy to have with us… but alas he is going home very soon.

And what birthday party would be complete without a cake!   In this case a huge cake! Very tasty!  President Mandy cutting our 100th Anniversary cake….her  last “presidential act”.
