Rotary vocational talks from Jason & Matt

Rotary members are invited to share a talk about their life. Jason and Matt both shared their vocational talk yesterday. Both talked about their families, and growing up, getting married and having children. They both spoke about the meaningful work they do and the great people they work with to serve their clients and community. Pictured above Jason Gourlie, Matt Furukawa and Barrie Orich. Barrie removed their yellow ribbon (sort of a new member identifier). These gents are official, full-on Rotary members now! Congratulate them when you see them.

Matt Furukawa also announced a Community Concert that will be held on Thursday November 14, 7 pm at the Geomatic Attic here in Lethbridge. Matt bought my singing services as an auction item at the Rotary Black and Gold Event in September. He decided to donate it back to Rotary as a fundraising tool for Rotary. So, Matt’s generosity was coupled with Mike Spencer’s generosity. Mike owns the Geomatic Attic – https://geomaticattic.ca/

The Geomatic Attic attracts all these amazingly talented musicians to perform at this beautiful space. Mike gave Rotary the use and enjoyment of his beautiful concert hall for free! Thanks Mike! When you look at the picture below, you may say, that doesn’t look some “amazingly talented musician” that looks like Allan Friesen. Yes, that is correct. But come on out anyway. I promise you a smile and at least 1 song (I am singing 25 Accapella songs) that you will enjoy. The Matt Furukawa song set will feature songs that I think speak to three aspects of Matt’s life. Matt as a community contributor, Matt as a great husband and father and lastly, Matt’s as a car aficionado. It will be fun! Hope to see you there!
