Last Friday we had a volunteer appreciation night for our Victim Services Unit. I am very proud to work with these advocates (we do have some male advocates as well). These advocates provide incredible support to people who are dealing with the worst situations in their life. I can’t imagine how difficult it is to meet with someone and tell them their spouse has died (or worse situations).
My role is a breeze in comparison – I just help find the money and then I pay the bills. Related to “find the money”, we have been selected by the Birdies to Kids program that will give any donation a big bump up.
